VIDYA BALAN LAUNCHES “TERA BAYAAN GHALIB”

Saregama, India has launched TERA BAYAAN GHALIB- Letters and Ghazals of Mirza Ghalib with recitation by Gulzar Saab and music & ghazals by late Jagjit Singh on 17th February at Novotel Hotel, Juhu. Vidya Balan looked resplendent at the launch of the album. Anup Jalota, Rekha Bharadwaj, Bhupinder & Mitali Singh, Talat Aziz & Raageshwari were also present. Vidya was quite nervous on stage. She confessed that, “my knowledge of Urdu literature begins and ends with all what I have heard from Gulzar Saab. I find it a great honour to be here with him and launching a brilliant music album on Mirza Ghalib. I have seen portions of the television serial as a kid and loved the treatment given by Jagjit Singh and Gulzar Saab.” The album begins with a poem by Gulzar Saab which he wrote as a personal tribute after Jagjit Singh passed away. With Gulzar saab reading portions of letters of Ghalib as preludes to Ghazals, the album is a tribute dedicated to fond memories of Jagjit Singh. 1987 was the year when Gulzar Saab made a TV serial on Mirza Ghalib, the legendary Urdu poet. Gulzar Saab opted Jagjit Singh as a music composer – singer, where Salim Arif first time meet with Jagjit Singh. According to Gulzar, “I can’t make once again Ghalib, it’s  Salim Arif album. He has invited me to conceive and script this album.”

Shubha Khote launches Mansoor Mahmood’s debut album Sabrina

Mansoor Mahmood  son of legendary comedian late Mahmood has launched his debut album Sabrina with Yellow and Red Music at Raheja Classic Club, Andheri West on 11th February. This album has nine tracks composed by Mansoor only with lyrics by Aslam Noor . ."This album is dedicated to my dad late Mahmood , my daughter Sabrina and other kids of the world staying in broken family" said Mansoor. Shubha Khote who has worked with Mahmood in maximum movies was the chief guest who released the audio.Two songs video of the album is made by Naushad Ismail Memon of 3rd Dimension.

HOMAGE PAID TO DADASAHEB PHALKE

On the occasion of 68th Death Anniversary of Father of Indian Film Cinema, Shri Dadasaheb Phalke, a homage was paid by Dadasaheb Phalke Academy at Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari by garlanding his statue, Filmcity, Goregaon on 16th February. Producer-director Anil Sharma, singer Udit Narayan, Veteran actor and film maker Chandrashekhar, actress Sahila Chaddha, Producers Gautam Bhatiya, Gopal Ram, Romy Bahl, Trustees of Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Ramgopal Gupta and Neena Jalan and it's secretary Prabhat Pandey were present in the event. The event was organised by Ashok Shekhar of Madhuri Entertainment, and on this occasion an MOU was also signed with Mr. Sunil Kandalloor, the Managing Director of Celebrity Wax Museum of Lonavala, to make the full size Wax Statue of Dadasaheb Phalke. The Indian Film Industry will enter into 100th year on 3rd May 2012, a grand function will be organized by Dadasaheb Phalke Academy and the statue will be unveiled that time.

First look of Housefull 2 unveiled

The first look of action-comedy flick Housefull 2 is the sequel to Bollywood blockbuster Housefull (2010) was launched in Mumbai on 9th February. The official theatrical trailer of Housefull 2 was released with Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Shazahn Padamsee, Jacqueline fernandes, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Zarine Khan, Farah Khan, producer Saij Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan were present in the event. The movie is scheduled for April 5, 2012 release.

AMITABH BACHCHAN AGREED FOR "MEHRUNISSA"


Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to do work in Sudhir Mishra and Nikhil Advani's upcoming film Mehrunissa. The movie would also have Rishi Kapoor as one of the stars, while Vidya Balan, Katrina Kaif and Chitrangada Singh were also being considered.

Actors join hands to help cancer survivors

Global Vision on the occasion of its second anniversary celebrations as a philanthropic forum for cancer afflicted people, the outfit had arranged a grand musical nite at Ghatkopar Police ground on 5th February to extend a helping hand to the cancer patients. Where 40 cancer survivors were given away Rs 25 lakhs at the hands of hordes of celebrities. Those celebrities making it to the event were singer Javed Ali, Pooja Mishra, Juhi Parmar, Rohit Verma, Vidha Butt, Shonali Nagrani, Shraddha Sharma, Sidharth Bhardwaj besides prince Manvendra Singh Gohil. music director Nikhil Kamat, Sanjay Dutt who earlier had consented to be the chief guest failed to make it to the event. India’s first transgender ambassador to United Nations, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi was the host of the event. “We have pilot project to come up with a cancer hospital and shelter home,”said D B Chand, chairman of Global Vision.

Karanvir Bohra gets Allah's blessings


Karanvir Bohra, though playing an Anti-Hero in a popular TV show, "Saubhagyavati Bhava?" on Life OK, but in real life he is just opposite of that and this was proven when he was invited by Maulana of the Makdum Dargah in Mahim. As he reached there he was welcomed by hundreds of fans patiently waiting to meet him. Karanvir said it was a truly a spiritually satisfying experience. Bohra spoke about his upcoming film project that he  got the offer to play the lead in the Movie “Mumbai 125 Kms” when he was seeking the blessing of Allah and in a emotional feeling expressed that. Allah has been very kind to him.

20 finalist of the beauty pageant ‘ Indian Princess’


After auditions in 15 cities across country, the finalist for the Beauty Pageant,  ‘Indian Princess’ helmed by Mr. Sunil Rane, have been selected. 20 Finalist came to Atharva College on 8th Feb from where they all are leaving for a grooming and fitness session to a 5 star resort at Ganpati Phule.From past two years the finale of the pageant has seen renowned designers like Wendell Rodricks, Rohit Bal amongst others but this year the whole show would have costumes designed by Ahana Deol, daughter of actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

‘London, Paris, New York’, Actors at Reliance Digital



Reliance Digital, on 10th febuary played host to Co-Stars of the movie ‘London, Paris, New York’ Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari at Reliance Digital, Lokhandwala.It is directed by first-time director Anu Menon and produced by Shrishti Arya & Goldie Behl. The stars interacted with guests and shared their experiences of the movie. The film will be releasing worldwide on 2nd  March 2012.

Suresh Wadkar releases Maa Shri Shri 108 Aarti Path


With the blessings of Jai Maa Jagrat Gauri Mata Mandir, the devotional bhajan album of Maa Jagrat Gauri Rural Development & Educational Trust (Regd.) and MJG Sur Sangam Private Ltd.’s Maa Shri Shri 108 Aarti Path was released on Tuesday, February 7 at Ajivasan Hall by its music director Ashok Patki and singer Suresh Wadkar. For the first time the veteran singers Usha Mangeshkar, Suresh Wadkar and Shankar Mahadevan have come together for a devotional album. Producer Jayant Ghadia has penned the lyrics. The video is directed by Vikhram Modi, who is also the executive producer. Viddhi Narayan, Uddham Kapoor and Dev Dutt Kodineya features in the video. Ashok Vyas and Indu Vyas with the Guruji of Jayant Ghadia from Orissa were also present  on the occasion.

ESHA DEOL TO MARRY

Daughter of veteran actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra actress Esha Deol is set to exchange rings with her long-time boyfriend Mumbai-based businessman Bharat Takhtani on Sunday 12th Febuary at their Juhu residence. Esha began her tryst with Bollywood in 2002 with "Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe". She went on to feature in films like "Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne", "Na Tum Jaano Na Hum" and "Dhoom".Last year, Hema relaunched her 29-year-old with "Tell Me O Kkhuda", but it failed to resurrect her career as the movie tanked at the box office.

KARISMA KAPOOR’S ITEM NUMBER IN “ROWDY RATHORE”

Bollywood star  Karisma Kapoor is making a comeback with Vikram Bhatt's Dangerous Ishq. In this movie she is  playing the lead role, the buzz is that she has also agreed to do an item number in on the lines of 'Munni' and 'Chikni Chameli' in the Akshay Kumar- Sonakshi Sinha starrer Rowdy Rathore.

AMIT PUROHIT WITH RAVEENA TANDON IN 'SHOBHNA'S SEVEN NIGHTS'


Amit Purohit, actor and Ranji Trophy cricket player who represented Madhya Pradesh, is working opposite in Raveena Tandon’s come back movie  'Shobhna's Seven Nights', directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay. Rumoured to be loosely based on the life of author-columnist Shobhaa De'.  Anupam Kher and Rohit Roy are in pivotal roles.

'Pankh' fame actor Amit Purohit’s also garnered acclaim for his portrayal in the art-house film 'Bijuka', appreciated at film-festivals worldwide. Also he’ll be seen as the leader of a music-band in 'Aalaap'.
