In the History of
Indian Cinema from the State of Bihar
the films are made in the Languages of Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magadhi and Magahi.The
first Bhojpuri Film “GANGA MAIYA TOHE PIYARI CHADHAIBO” was made in 1962 by raj
Kumar Shahabadi and directed by Kundan Kumar. The film was certified the
Censores in November 1962 and was released in Varanasi
and Patna in early 1963. The first Maithili Language
film was “KANYADAN”, released in 1965. The first Magadhi film was“BHAIYAA”, was
released in 1961. The first Magahi film “BHAIYAA” was made in 1964 in the direction
of Phani Majumdar and it was released in
1965.
Tarun Bose (Parmanand) lives a poor lifestyle in
a village along with his widowed stepmother Asha Sachdeva (Maya), and her two
children, a son Gopal (Murli), who is studying in a Bombay college, and daughter Lata Sinha (Kamla).
Tarun Bose is in love with beautiful Vijaya Choudhury (Bindu) and hopes to
marry her someday. When Gopal returns home after obtaining a degree in Arts, Tarun
Bose notices that he loves Vijaya Choudhury, so he steps aside and permits him
to marry her much to Achala Sachdev's displeasure. Shortly after the marriage, Tarun
Bose finds out that Gopal has been spending a lot of time with Padma Khanna (Chandra,
the daughter of Hariram Prasad). When he counsels Gopal, he gets abused, and
beats Gopal up. Upset at this treatment, Gopal and Vijaya Choudhury move out.
Shortly thereafter Vijaya Choudhury gets pregnant much to Padma Khanna's
displeasure. Padma Khanna confronts Vijaya Choudhury in a bid to make her hate
her child and force her to abort while Gopal files a claim in Court contesting
his late father's Will as a forgery. Watch what impact this has on the rest of
the family.
