SCREENING OF THREE SHORT FILMS

 The first screening of three short films THE SHAME GAME, SPIRIT OF DANCE and  AMBRIKSHANI was held at Prabodhankar Thakrey Natya Mandir, Mini Auditorium, Borivali on 19^th August. All three films are produced by Sumukh Productions and based three different stories. Shweta Maval is only one actor who has acted in all short films with Parag Rughani, Prayas, Priya Subha, Rahul Vaidya, Nabeel Ahmad, Tarun axena and others. All cast & crew along with TWO LITTLE INDIANS fame director Ravi Bhatia were present in the event.

ASHWAMEDHA AWARDS-2014 ON 30TH AUGUST

The managing director of Sampati  group Jayesh Madiyar has announced first ASHWAMEDHA AWARDS-2014 in a press conference at Ramee Guestline Hotel,  Juhu. The Socio, Entrtainment & Media Excellence Awards 2014 distribution ceremony will be held on 30^th August at Iskon Auditorium, Juhu. Dushyant Singh of M4U Entertainment is awards director.  Actor Arun Bakshi, singer Sanjeevni and lyricist Sudhakar Sharma were also present in the press conference.

BALLAD OF RUSTOM IS PHILOSOPHICAL FILM. -Ajita Suchitra Veera

‘THE GOOD ROAD’ has failed to make India’s official entry in the Oscars 2014 nominations list in the Best Foreign Picture Category, but Ajita Suchitra Veera’s ‘BALLAD OF RUSTOM’ is shortlisted for Oscars 2014 in Best Picture Contention from 3000 entries worldwide. Ajita Suchitra Veera is writer, producer and director of the film. She is on a mission to introduce her film to the Indian audiences.

What is BAALAD OF RUSTOM?

BALLAD OF RUSTOM is a poetic 115 minutes tale of a nondescript telephone repairer Rustom who has knack for scientific experiments. The film was fully shot on KODAK VISION3 Color Negative Films 5207 - 250D and Vision 3 5219 - 500T on ARRI 535B on cinemascope format by Shanti Bhushan Roy Cinematographer with live sync-sound. It was an aesthetic and artistic decision by me on film and create a visually different scheme for the movie. The negative went through a processing technique called bleach bypass, to create a unique look. I took 4 years to complete the film with my particular choice of location and lighting.  The cast was carefully selected to lend authenticity to the characters. The powerful and evocative score was evolved over 2 years, with extensive collaboration between me and composer Andrew T Mackay.

What is story of Rustom?

Rustom is a silent character. He is a young imaginative man working without any great aspirations, or ambition in a small government office, in a remote township in India, leads a wandering life and falls in love with young painter and meets strangers on his journey and shares his small dreams with his friend and travels into his dream world in this beautiful and magical countryside, which is slowly disappearing. You can say, the film is about imagination, dreams of passion for life, love, hope, despair & conflicting philosophies of a few people in a countryside township in India.

You have used a technique called ‘Bleached By Pass’, Can you enlighten about it?

‘Bleach By Pass is a technique where you retain the silver on the negative in color film, so that you have an additional Black and white layer over the color image. This produces a desiderated image with high contrast and gain which creates very special look. I was particular about this desaturated color palette for my film to create the surreal atmosphere of Rustom’s dream world of technology, nature and his own subconscious.

Did you face any challenges during the making of film?

The film is constructed in a very different way, so obviously it not easy making a film which is highly visual, philosophical and not a strict narrative yet. It’s a deeply philosophical film of India. Me and my crew shot it at Coorg in Karnataka. There were several challenges of raising funds, shooting in right locations and finding right cast. But I love challenges.

What is your commercials distribution aspect for the BALLAD OF RUSTOM?

The films story is very near to me. When you watch sure you will get it near with you. I have made a good film and always I think a good film will do good business, I have so far financed my own film but I now want to approach big studios like Disney, Sony classic, Fox Searchlight , UTV, TV18 or Eros to become the release partners. I want to show my film to all Indians.

Miss India Navdeep Kaur,Evlyn Sharma & Shalika Sharma visited on 2nd day of Rajasthan Fashion Week at Fairmont,Jaipur. 

Shishupal Singh Founder Chairman of Rajasthan Fashion week kept press meet for Miss India 2013 Navdeep Kaur, who came for designer Shivangee Sharma. 2nd day of fashion week started on time and finished on time. Evlyn Sharma walked as show stopper for designer Soonakshi Raaj. Jaya Nandini, princess of Jodhpur also came as show stopper and she walked for designer Charu Parashar. Padamshri Ritu Kumar displayed great combination of colour and work sequence. This year maximum people are showing power of Women. Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Outdoor and Rakesh Sabarwal and Hari Om Jatia specially came to be part of this fashion week. Shalika Sharma walked for  designer Sharad Raghav. Other designers who showcased their designs were Debarun Mukherjee and Kavita Bhartia. There was a party also after the fashion week.

Vikram Phadnis started the 2nd edition of Rajasthan fashion week

Shishupal Singh Founder chairman of Rajasthan Fashion Week, Jaipur along with Shalika Sharma, Vinod Kaul, Mahipal Singh and Arun Lal GM, Fairmont announced 2nd edition of Rajasthan Fashion week with first show by Vikram Phadnis who invited kids at Fairmont, Jaipur. Other who showcased the designs on day 1 were Sumit Das Gupta, Kirti Rathore, Sulakshana Munga, Poonam Bhagat, Pallavi Jain and Lina Tipnis. Abhimanyu Singh actor from Bollywood walked as show stopper for Kirti Rathore. Bright colours and great designs were displayed by different designers. The show started slightly late and finished also late. 80 feet ramp is made for model to walk.

SRK RECIEVES AWARD FROM THE HAND OF KAMAL HAASAN

SHAHRUKH KHAN was conferred with Chevalier Sivaji Award, constituted after veteran Tamil actor Sivaji Ganeshan on 11^thMay in Chennai at the 7th edition of Vijay Awards. Shahrukh Khan received the award from the hands of Kamal Haasan, Vijay and members from the family of Sivaji Ganeshan.

A DRY HOLI CELEBRATED TO SAVE WATER

Bollywood actors came to play a dry and safe Holi with save water awareness at Kamal Air compound. Where Payal Rohatgi, wrestler & actor Sangram Singh, Manisha Kelkar, Miss Srilanka Chandi Perera and Ekta Jain came with a idea to save water as entire Maharashtra is facing water crisis. If someone plays proper Holi then they waste 200 litres of water, so they wanted to appeal to the people that please play dry and safe Holi and save water for future. They came at Kamal air compound and played dry Holi with Gulal and water sprinklers. They have used Gulal made of chandan rose and other flowers.They came and played Holi before the main day as they want people should be informed regarding saving water.Great way of awareness.

Bollywood Star Veena Malik invited at the most auspicious moment of Sahara by Sahara group head Subrata Roy for their launch of new News channel. BOLLYWOOD STARS LAUNCHES ALLAN VAZ ‘S ALBUM “SUNO ABHI”

Bollywood actors launched allan vaz debut album SUNO ABHI at their shooting locations in Mumbai.Allan Vaz who was earlier working with a music channel as Tar head and after that he planned his album in Goan language which got great response. He planned his hindi album Suno Abhi which he made under R Vision Music. The album has 8 beautiful romantic tracks sung by him. He also shot a video for promotion.He went to actors on their shooting locations and got his album released as he knows that now there is not much happening with albums.Mahima Chaudhry, Vidya Balan, Arjun Rampal, Neetu Chandra and Neha Dhupia met him and wished him all the best for his new venture.

Veena Malik and Aanand Balraj faced the first shot the film also starts Jackie Shroff, Shakti Kapoor, Vijay Raaz,  Raja Chaudhary, Lilliput, Anil Naagrath, Kishore Bhanushali, Laughter Challenge Champions Irfan Malik & Ali Hassan & Priyanka Shah (Miss World Tourism).

Rekha Bharadwaj unveils the music of ‘BUBBLE GUM’

Music of film ‘Bubble Gum’ was released by Rekha Bharadwaj while the star cast Sachin Kheddekar, Tanvi Azmi, Sohail Lakhani, Dilzad Hiwale & Apoorva Arora joined hands along with producer Sushma Kaul Ravi, director Sanjivan Lal and music director Hanif Shaikh. Other celebs present on stage were singer composer Salim Merchant and Javed Ali, actor Aslam Khan, Television stars like Muskan, Arjun Bijlani, Rajesh Thakkar etc.

With teenagers around it is bound to be a lot of hungama and fun. And this is what exactly happened at the music launch of Sushma Kaul Ravi produced film Bubble Gum. All the three teenagers Sohail Lakhani, Delzad Hirale & Apoorva Arora started bonding and cracking jokes as soon as they met at the party after a substantial break post their shoot. In fact during the album release all three got very excited and did an impromptu jig on stage when title track was played. There was so much energy in their dance that even the stage broke.

“ANJUNAA BEACH” based on mysterious death of Scarlett Keeling

Coming soon movie ANJUNAABEACH” which is based on mysterious death of Scarlett Keeling on a Goa beach, the body of the British teenager which is still lying in a mortuary in theUK. The family is awaiting a nod from the CBI to carry out the last rites. Scarlett Keeling, 15, was sexually assaulted and left to die at Anjuna beach on February 18, 2008.

Producer Sikander A Khan and Writer Director Shakeel S Saifee were having proper permission to shot this film in original location of Goa but in last moment Govt of Goa refused to allow them to shoot in Goa as with this film there weak points will come in public, however both Producer and Director somehow managed to complete their film on original location.

Now Producer and Director have strong feedback thatGoa’ Govt with help of Scarlett’s family and legal counsel are trying to stop this film. The movie, which is already complete has being made in English, Hindi and dubbed in Telugu and Tamil languages.
A press conference was held on 9th July 2011 atHotelJuhuPlaza to clear the differences between the filmmakers andGoa govt, regarding film. Producer Sikander and writer director Shakeel expressed about the un cooperation of Goa Govt, in spite of giving permission for shooting they backed out because one of their official was going to be shown in negative way, in spite of that when they were shooting Goa Police tried to stop it but after taking bribe they allowed them to shoot on original location, and the makers have the proof in form of video clipping. All actors present expressed that Scarlett should get justice. Scarlett’s mother Fiona and legal advisor Vikram Verma have asked to watch this film before release and makers have agreed on this point, but if still Goa Govt tries to stop it they are ready to go to door to door to show this film, because this film is going to expose the corruption in the most popular and publicized tourist place Goa, plus in India guests are like god and they should be well treated.
