FAROOQUE SHAIKH NO MORE


Bollywood's  veteran actor #FAROOQUESHAIKH passed away due to a heart attack in Dubai (where he had gone for a holiday trip) on the morning of 28th December 2013. He was 65. Born on 25th March 1948 in  #Amroli in #Gujarat’s Baroda District near Naswadi village near Bodeli town. His father was a lawyer and he also studied law at Siddharth College of Law, Mumbai. He started his career in Bollywood in 1973 with 'Garm Hava' and his last performance in Bollywood was in ‘Club 60’. His notable films are ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’, ‘Noorie’, ‘Chashme Buddoor’, ‘Katha’, ‘Shanghai’, ‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’, ‘Faasle’, ‘Bazar’, ‘Umrao Jaan’, Mere Saath Chal ,  ‘Lahore’, Listen Amaya and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (as Ranbir Kapoor’s father) besides acting in more than fifty  films. He has acted in many serials and shows on television and performed on stage in famous productions such as ‘Tumhari Amrita’ and presented the popular TV show ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’.He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film ‘Lahore’. He is survived by his  wife Rupa Jain and three daughters Rubina, Shaista and Sanaa. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May God give his soul rest in peace. Amen!  inmovieznews.com
